All the OTT enthusiasts out there might have already seen most of the recent popular titles on Indian OTT platforms. So, this time, we recommend you watch an underrated action movie featuring veteran action star Arnold Schwarzenegger in the lead role. We are talking about South Korean filmmaker Kim Jee-woon’s action thriller flick ‘The Last Stand’, which has recently started streaming in India on the Netflix OTT platform.
‘The Last Stand’ features Arnold Schwarzenegger in the lead role of a former LAPD narcotics officer, who is now a sheriff of a sleepy border town. But the sheriff’s quiet and peaceful life is soon disrupted by a wanted drug lord, who is on the run from the FBI. Now, it’s up to the reluctant sheriff and his ragtag bunch of staff to stop the dreaded criminal from getting away. The movie also features Forest Whitaker, Eduardo Noriega, and Johnny Knoxville in pivotal roles.
‘The Last Stand’ is a kind of film which did not receive outstanding reviews from critics at the time of its release. But we still recommend you watch the film to witness Arnold Schwarzenegger getting back in his terrific 80s and 90s era form. Watch the stylishly executed action-packed thriller for its amusingly silly and over-the-top yet entertaining narrative. You shouldn’t regret spending those 1 hour and 47 minutes of the film’s runtime.
‘The Last Stand’ has been directed by South Korean director Kim Jee-woon, whose has previously directed films and shows such as the mystery sci-fi series ‘The Brain’ (2021), action thriller flick ‘I Saw the Devil’ (2010), psychological horror film ‘A Tale of Two Sisters’ (2003) and the neo-noir actioner ‘A Bittersweet Life’ (2005), amongst others.
