In a recent interview, Arshad Warsi teases a new film on the much-loved character of Munna Bhai. The first film, ‘Munna Bhai MBBS’ that came out in 2003 was a blockbuster success. It had a sequel named ‘Lage Raho Munna Bhai’ which was a grand success as well. Arshad Warsi played the role of Circuit, the best friend to Munna Bhai. And Munna Bhai is played by Sanjay Dutta. The films are directed by Rajkumar Hirani.
There had been rumors of a third film on Munna Bhai named ‘Munna Bhai In America’ but most probably the film was shelved for unknown reasons. Now, Warsi confirms that a script on Munna Bhai is still in the works and there will soon be another movie in the franchise.
Arshad Warsi has a very interesting line-up for his next films. He will be part of the third installment of ‘Welcome’ series. The sequel to Akshay Kumar’s 2007 comedy was a disaster and hopefully, an actor like Warsi will do justice to the franchise. Other than Welcome, Arshad Warsi will also be seen in ‘Jolly LLB 3’ as well. Both Akshay Kumar and Arshad Warsi will be part of the film and it will commence shooting in 2024. The actor has said, “Just imagine Akshay and his sense of comedy, me and my sense of comedy. Both of us will probably, hopefully, crack everybody up. And then it goes into a space, which melts your heart and gets all emotional. It’s a beautiful script. Funny and heartwarming at the same time.”
Other than these movies, he will also be seen in ‘Ghamasan’, directed by the award winning director Tigmangshu Dhulia. A thriller, ‘Bhagwat’, directed by Akshay Shere, will tell the story of a serial killer. The shooting for Bhagwat is now complete and the release dates will soon be announced.
