The trailer for the much anticipated Tamil action thriller movie ‘Enemy‘ is out and the makers have once again confirmed a Diwali Release. It’s an ‘Annatthe’ Vs ‘Enemy’ Diwali this year and the clash is picking up more steam by the day, with both films fighting it out for the desired number of screens at cinema halls. Directed by Anand Shankar, ‘Enemy’ features Vishal and Arya in the lead with Mirnalini Ravi, Mamta Mohandas, and Prakash Raj in important roles and is scheduled for a theatrical release on 4th November. The trailer gives an inside story into the friendship between the lead stars, Arya and Vishal, before they turn foes.
Although ‘Enemy’ remains the out-and-out action entertainer the teaser promised us, the trailer delves into an emotional angle with an important back story, showing the childhood of the two, that some can say, began with competition. So is the enmity sudden or one that has been growing over the years? With some heavy action sequences, stunts and great locales, the trailer definitely has the viewers wanting more! The teaser on the other hand, had a very crisp message- ‘The most dangerous enemy in the world is a friend who knows everything about you’. So our doubts are confirmed that a deep history of enmity has indeed stemmed from a valuable friendship. We’ll have to wait and watch if this is a story of deceit or there is something beyond what meets the eye!
It was reported earlier that among the two Diwali releases, ‘Annaatthe’ was hogging the screen count with a whopping 900 screens out of the 1100 odd available screens. This had apparently left ‘Enemy’ with less than 100 screens (with Hollywood film ‘Eternals getting about 100 screens) and the makers had requested the intervention of the Producers Council to help them get at least 250 screens for their film. Well, here’s hoping the issues are resolved and ‘Enemy’ sees a smooth release and a profitable run at the box office. Stay tuned to Binged for more updates!
