Jr NTR is doing an exquisite job as the host of Telugu infotainment show Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu, but that alone just isn’t proving to be sufficient enough to keep the small screen audience invested in the show. The fact that the weekly TRPs of the show has been declining in the last couple of weeks proves the same.
In the opening week, Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu garnered 6.76 TRP and in the corresponding week, 6.48. There was a marginal spike in 3rd week TRPs – 7.30. But ever since, the TRPs are on a steady decline. In the 4th, 5th, and 6th week, the TRPs were 6.59, 4.70, and 4.00 respectively. Garnering 4.00 TRPs in the fourth week is a franchise record but more is expected of a show that is being hosted by a superstar like Jr NTR. In a bid to up the ante, the show-runners have bought on board a couple of Tollywood top stars, namely Mahesh Babu and Samantha.
The episode featuring Mahesh Babu was shot a long while back and the same is expected to be televised on Gemini TV this Dussehra weekend. The promo of the episode will be out in a day or two. This episode is tipped to be the flagship one for the show, as a whole. In all likelihood, this Dussehra special episode will garner season-high TRPs. The camaraderie between Jr NTR and Mahesh Babu will stand as the major highlight of the episode.
As for Samantha’s episode, it was shot the other day. The fact that this is Samantha’s first mainstream public appearance after her divorce announcement is adding more anticipation for the same. This episode is also expected to premiere sooner than later.
Pair Jr NTR’s already spotless hosting skills with star attractions and we have ourselves a winner. That is exactly what the makers of Evaru Meelo Koteeswarulu are hoping for as they are planning to go big with special episodes featuring Mahesh Babu and Samantha.
