Malayalam action thriller ‘Kuttavum Shikshayum’ started streaming on Netflix India on 25th June. The film received a lukewarm reception commercially when it released theatrically on 27th May despite opening up to extremely positive reviews. It seems like the film has found it’s audience on Netflix India just like Jana Gana Mana.
The film slowly sneaked into Netflix India Top 10 in two days. As of today, the film is trending at #9 on Netflix India and if this momentum is maintained, the film could stay in Top 10 for longer like CBI 5 and also eventually gain popularity like Jana Gana Mana. The premise of the film is very much universal and the film is even regarded as Rajeev Ravi’s best outing since ‘Njan, Steve Lopez’.
Kuttavum Shikshayum is based on a real life jewellery robbery case that occurred in Kasaragod district of Kerala back in 2015. The case followed a team of five members from the Kerala Police Force who had to risk their lives to catch the culprits responsible for the robbery in a dreaded village in Uttar Pradesh.Kuttavum Shikshayum stars Asif Ali, Sunny Wayne, Alencier and Sharafudheen in major roles.
This is Rajeev Ravi’s directorial come-back after the 2016 film ‘Kammattipaadam’ starring Dulquer Salmaan and Vinayakan in key roles. Although Rajeev Ravi finished filming ‘Thuramukham’ starring Nivin Pauly, Indrajith and Nimisha Sajayan before Kuttavum Shikshayum, the latter released at the movies earlier. Asif Ali plays CI Sajan Philip, the team leader of the task force in Kuttavum Shikshayum. The screenplay is co-written by Sibi Thomas and Sreejith Divakaran. Stream the movie straightway on Netflix India.
