Rajeev Ravi directorial ‘Kuttavum Shikshayum‘ released theatrically on 27th May. The film recieved a lukewarm reception commercially and opened to positive critical reviews. Netflix was announced as the streaming partner of the film few months ago and now the film is available to stream on Netflix India from today. The film stars Asif Ali, Sunny Wayne, Alencier and Sharafudheen in prominent roles.
Kuttavum Shikshayum is based on a real life jewellery robbery case that occurred in Kasaragod district of Kerala back in 2015. The case followed a team of five members from the Kerala Police Force who had to risk their lives to nab the culprits responsible for the robbery in a dreaded village in Uttar Pradesh.
This is Rajeev Ravi’s directorial come-back after the 2016 film ‘Kammattipaadam’ starring Dulquer Salmaan and Vinayakan in key roles. Although Rajeev Ravi finished filming ‘Thuramukham’ starring Nivin Pauly, Indrajith and Nimisha Sajayan before Kuttavum Shikshayum, the latter released at the movies earlier.
Asif Ali plays CI Sajan Philip, the team leader of the task force. Kuttavum Shikshayum is bank-rolled by Film Roll Productions in association with Collective Studios. The screenplay is co-written by Sibi Thomas and Sreejith Divakaran. Although the film couldn’t hit its target audience upon a theatrical release, it is expected to be better recieved on Netflix India.
