Shooting of Netflix’s Atypical season four is finally wrapped up. The show’s executive producer Mary Rohlich took to his twitter to share the news with the fans of the show.
Atypical, an American comedy-drama series created by Robia Rashid for Netflix created a lot of buzz in late 2019 as it received overwhelmingly positive reviews for its third season.
Atypical revolves around the life of 18-year-old Sam Gardner, who has autism spectrum disorder. When Sam decides he is ready for romance, he realizes that he needs to be more independent In order to start dating and find love. This sends his mother, portrayed by Jennifer Jason Leigh on her own life-changing path. Now, she and the rest of Sam’s family must adjust to all these changes of Sam and explore what it means to be a “normal” teenager.
The show features Keir Gilchrist as Sam Gardner, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Brigette Lundy-Paine, Michael Rapaport and Amy Okuda as series regulars.
Atypical was created and written by Robia Rashid, who previously worked on How I Met Your Mother and The Goldbergs as a producer. As per the reports, she consulted with Michelle Dean, a California State University professor who worked at UCLA’s Center for Autism Research and Treatment for a more accurate portrayal before the beginning of the series. Apart from directing, she will also be donning the executive producer’s hat along with Academy Award-winner Seth Gordon & Mary Rohlich.
