At last, the highly anticipated Netflix’s live-action adaptation of Avatar: The Last Airbender series is out now. Fans have waited long and anxiously for the streaming giant’s take on the original animated series of the same name, which ran from 2005 to 2008. While the responses from both critics and viewers towards the latest Netflix project are divided, they are way better than M. Night Shyamalan’s crap that came out in 2010.
Most critics have hailed Avatar: The Last Airbender as a ‘good but not great’ entry to Netflix’s arsenal. Many believe the series had all the hype in the world, but it failed to deliver in many aspects. While it has received praise for its leading trio (Gordon Cormier, Kiawentiio, and Ian Ousley) and visuals, criticisms are mostly directed at the series’ rushed story, narrative inconsistencies, and lack of effort from the rest of the cast.
