SonyLIV and Applause Entertainment’s show “Avrodh: The Siege Within” received mixed reviews when it first premiered on the platform last year. The series was adapted from a chapter of the book “India’s Most Fearless” by Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh. It told the story of how the Indian Army hits back at Pakistani terrorist hubs in the wake of the Uri attack. Avrodh: The Siege Within featured Amit Sadh, Darshan Kumaar, Vikram Gokhale, Neeraj Kabi, Anant Mahadevan and Madhurima Tuli in pivotal roles.
Now, we have confirmed news that Avrodh Season 2 is in the works. The new season will feature a fresh new story, along with a completely new cast. The show has even signed on its first cast member. Kubbra Sait (kukoo of Sacred Games) has come on board Avrodh Season 2, and will play a crucial role in the show.
There is no news yet on the storyline, or the other cast and crew of the show. There are diverse chapters in Shiv Aroor and Rahul Singh’s book, “India’s Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes”. As the title suggests, the book tells stories of the bravery of our armed forces, some unheard of, and some that made the headlines. Applause Entertainment is already making a film ‘Ifthikar’, on the chapter about Major Mohit Sharma, the Para Special Forces officer who infiltrated the dreaded Hizbul Mujahideen under the alias of Iftikhar Bhatt.
