Actress Divya Dutta, who won a National Award for Best Supporting actress is all set to join the web series, Special OPS. It is an Hotstar Special series helmed by Neeraj Pandey and Shivam Nair.
The directors have previously worked together on the movie Naam Shabana. Neeraj Pandey had produced the flick which was directed by Shivan Nair. It was a spin-off movie based on a character from Neeraj’s directorial Baby. That they are coming together as directors suggest the common interest they share.
Special OPS will mark the digital debut of Neeraj Pandey. He is the man behind flicks like A Wednesday, Baby, Special 26, Dhoni biopic etc. He is a big name as a director. No wonder many talented artists like Kay Kay Menon, Sharad Kelkar, Pawan Chopra, Parmeet Sethi, Karan Racker have signed up for the project. Divya Dutt is the latest addition to the long list.
Hotstar is looking at ramping up its original content. Special OPS is one of the many in the planning stages. They have made City of Dreams in the past with Nagesh Kukunoor. The rest, Criminal Justice, Hostages, The Office, and Out of Love, are remakes of English series keeping the local sensibilities in mind.
