Multiple international award winning and highly acclaimed Indo-Dutch Tamil language drama ‘Nasir’ is all set to make its digital debut on SonyLIV. Helmed by Arun Karthick, ‘Nasir’ will have its world digital premiere only on SonyLIV on 6th May, 2022.
SonyLIV recently dropped the trailer for the 2020 film ‘Nasir’ and it gives an insight into the life of a middle aged garment shop clerk. His views about life are more nuanced than many others living a shallow life.
He knows he does not have any hold on his life but neither does he grieve about it nor is he too arrogant to hate it. Though there comes a moment and he reaches a point where he finds himself on either ends of silence and loneliness. But then he also thinks isn’t life all about silence and loneliness.
Directed and screenplay by Arun Karthick, ‘Nasir’ is a worldwide recognised story of a middle-aged garment shop clerk whose silence speaks louder. The film focuses on tolerance and human values.
‘Nasir’ is produced by Mathivanan Rajendran and stars Koumarane Valavane in the titular role, Sudha Ranganathan as Taj and Sabari as Iqbal. The production companies behind the highly acclaimed film are Stray Factory, Rinkel Films, Harman Ventures, Magic Hour Films, Uncombed Buddha and Colored Pickle Films.
Recipient of the Hubert Bals Fund, ‘Nasir’ premiered at the International Film Festival of Rotterdam in Tiger competition and won the NETPAC award for Best Asian Film premiering at the Festival. The film also received Grand Prix at the 14th Andrei Tarkovsky Zerkalo International Film Festival, Russia and Golden Wood at the Asian Arthouse Film Festival, 2021 held in Kolkata.
