Awasaan on Gemplex: An Emotional Tale of Loss and Misery!

In rural areas that have limited connections and resources getting a stable and decent well paying job can be a tough task which is why so many people migrate from the villages to the cities in search of a job. This journey isn’t a bed of roses and you don’t always find a pot of gold at the end. Awasaan is the story of a 27-year-old boy called Satyawan Shukla who comes from a poor middle-class family in Prayagraj. His father is a poor priest but wants to make his son an engineer and seels of 50% of his land in order to fund this dream.

Not being able to find a proper job he decides to go to Lucknow and seek out opportunities in a government post. He meets a government officer who offers to give him a job in exchange for 15 lakhs. Satyawan’s father seels his entire land and gives him the money but will Satyawan really get the job. Awasaan is inspired by true events and goes to show the kind of vultures that are present in today’s world and how they take advantage of those who are desperately in need of help.

It highlights the social divide between the kind of resources that are available in rural and modern India. Awasaan stars Arjun Chakrabarty, Kuljindar Singh Sidhu, Amruta Pore, Santosh Kaushik, Sangeeta Panwar, Sarvagya Jain and Trishala Idnani. The film is written and directed by Rajat Kumar Chaturvedi.

Awasaan will release on Gemplex on 20th May.
