The much-awaited trailer of ‘BABYLON‘ just arrived and describing it over the top will be generous.
The trailer starts with Margot Robbie snorting drugs. She talks about her destiny to become a star and wanting to do only ‘fun’ things if she had money and not boring things like paying taxes. We are 30 seconds into the trailer and we realize this is a story that doesn’t take itself seriously. At least not in the trailer.
We are immediately transported into the world of dreamers, and the world they are in seems like a circus. People are partying, dancing, and drinking without a care in the world. Plates are breaking, spears are thrown, drugs are being taken, and strippers are everywhere. There is an elephant in a room, a crocodile on an iron leash and Margot is fighting a snake.
The movie is a celebration and everyone is having fun. Margot gives an unrestrained performance and its impossible to get your eyes off her when she is on-screen. Brad Pitt plays an actor and is seemingly having the best time of his life. The music in the trailer gets the heart thumping.
‘BABYLON’ is an original epic set in 1920s Los Angeles led by Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie, and Diego Calva, with an ensemble cast including Jovan Adepo, Li Jun Li, and Jean Smart. A tale of outsized ambition and outrageous excess, it traces the rise and fall of multiple characters during an era of unbridled decadence and depravity in early Hollywood.
The film is a Damien Chazelle (La La Land) directorial and guarantees a visual spectacle with great performances. The film is scheduled to release on December 25 in the US and will have a wider release on January 6.
