Lately, Netflix has been doing all the rounds and not always for the right reasons. It is continuously embroiled in some controversy and their latest Documentary ‘Bad Boy billionaires’ is in the news again.
Netflix and its tryst with documentaries cannot seem to get over as they have exposed and covered every controversial and bone-chilling topic that one can imagine. They have gone after dictators to some of the most influential people globally, and ‘Bad Boy Billionaires’ covers some of the most notorious Indians on the list. Here is its latest update.
A recent panel of Chief Justice Raghvendra Singh Chauhan and Abhishek Reddy saw the episode on Ramalinga Raju and argued about the fact that this documentary may prejudice the officers who were still investigating open cases pertaining to SEBI, IT, and ED against Ramalinga Raju (Founder Chairman of Satyam Computers)
Senior Counsel Neeraj Kishan Kaul argues the case for Netflix has retorted by saying that he has interacted with Raju’s men and only asked that they supplement the good along with the bad rather than stop the production altogether. He also argued that the material was taken from several sources that were readily available to the public.
Kaul also argued at length as to how such civil and criminal cases against free speech would only discourage the creative people and have a devastating effect on the entire ecosystem of digital platforms.
This documentary ‘Bad Boy Billionaires’ delves into the lives of Ramalinga Raju, Vijay Mallya, Nirav Modi, and Subrata Roy. It takes a sneak peek and a more personal look into some of the most influential people of the nations, what happened behind the scenes of some of the most prominent tycoons and what led to their massive rise and equally massive fall in the business world as well as the eyes of the common folk.
