The meter of excitement was reading high when we realised that our very own Anurag Kashyap was going to play a villain in a Hotstar series.
It was exciting not only for the brand value that Kashyap carries but also because of its teaser. It was damn good.
This will be the first fiction series from Fremantle India, a company known for popular reality shows like “India’s Got Talent” and “Indian Idol”. Those shows called reality shows are too brimmed with unbearable drama, we hope this is not the case with Bad Cop.
“Bad Cop” is actually based on a German show called “Bad Cop: Kriminell Gut” and it’s directed by Aditya Datt. Even if you don’t speak German then you would realise that Kriminell Gut essentially means “Good Criminal”. So, it is going to be a classic Chor Police story with sympathy for a criminal and a despicable cop.
In the series, Gulshan Devaiah plays Karan, a tough cop who is trying to catch Kazbe, a powerful and dangerous villain played by Anurag Kashyap. Kazbe doesn’t think twice before doing something, making him a truly scary character.
The cast also includes Harleen Sethi, Saurabh Sachdeva and Aishwarya Sushmita. Anurag Kashyap describes Kazbe as a “dreadful, eccentric, nefarious, and quintessential villain” and says he had to work hard to make the character his own.
“Bad Cop” promises to be a gripping crime thriller, with lots of action and suspense. But when will it get released?
Even if you didn’t find it on social media, we are here to tell you that the series would start streaming from the 21st of June. Stay tuned to Binged for the trailer and every important update.
