Documentaries are largely unexplored in India but slowly attempts are being made. Bando Mein Tha Dam is an unprecedented and ambitious attempt to narrate the story of one of India’s India’s greatest Test Victory so far.
The success of international documentaries in India screams the potential of such films/series but the only saviour so far seems to be Netflix, that too for international content.
Things are changing and Voot is indeed making a brilliant effort in narrating one of India’s greatest Test victories. It will feature Ajinkya Rahane, Mohammed Siraj, Ravichandran Ashwin, Cheteshwar Pujara and Hanuma Vihari from the Indian team.
But it will also have some prominent Aussie players to reflect their side.
Bando Mein Tha Dam is directed by Neeraj Pandey who also directed MS Dhoni The Untold Story which had Late Sushant Singh Rajput playing the former Indian captain.
It will be based on the Border Gavaskar Trophy where team India defeated the Australian cricket team when many of our players were injured. Practically everyone believed that India was going to lose but we didn’t.
It is a huge achievement in the illustrious journey of the Indian cricket team and also a commendable effort by Voot Select to make a documentary on that.
This is ambitious, new and innovative and cricket enthusiasts must be having a hard time waiting for it.
Regardless, Bando Mein Tha Dam releases on Voot Select on 16th June.
