The popular web series ‘The Tourist’ is going to have an Indian adaptation soon. Banijay Asia, the company behind popular local adaptations of shows like ‘The Trial’, ‘The Night Manager’ and ‘Call My Agent’ is working on the project.
The cast details and other information has not been revealed yet but there will obviously be some big names in the project. ‘The Tourist’ is written by Harry and Jack Williams and stars Jamie Dornan in the lead role.
Dornan plays the role of a man who has lost his memory owing to a car crash and does not remember how he ended up in Australia. He meets a local woman who decides to help him and relocate his identity. But it is very clear that he has a very dark past and it would be better to leave that past behind. The second season for the show premiered earlier this week and got good response from critics and audiences.
Mrinalini Jain, group chief development officer for Banijay Asia, has said, “We at Banijay are huge fans of Two Brothers and the thrilling masterpieces that they craft. ‘The Tourist’ offers a unique blend of mystery and suspense that we believe will resonate deeply with our viewers. We are ecstatic to bring an adaptation of such a gripping and internationally celebrated series to Indian audiences.”
It will be curious to see which actors and writers are roped in for the Indian adaptation of the show.
