The official trailer for Greta Gerwig’s ‘Barbie‘ is here now. It stars Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling in the lead roles and has America Ferrera, Simu Liu, Kate McKinnon, Ariana Greenblatt and Alexandra Shipp in other important roles. Today some character posters for the film were released too and they feature singer Dua Lipa in an important role as well.
The movie is directed by Greta Gerwig and the screenplay is written by her and Noam Baumbach. Greta Gerwig is well known for her films like ‘Little Women’, ‘Lady Bird’, ‘Nights And Weekends’. The very colorful trailer shows Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling as her boyfriend Ken.
Previously a teaser trailer for the film had been released. The trailer gave a direct reference to Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey and showed a little girl thrashing lifeless baby dolls with dissatisfaction as she gets to see the gigantic, beautiful and gorgeous Barbie doll, played by Robbie. As we get to know vaguely from the new trailer, the story will follow Barbie, who is expelled from Barbie Land for not being a perfect doll
She goes out in the human world to search for happiness.
The wonderful cinematography of the movie is handled by Rodrigo Prieto. The visuals of the trailer are just awesome, color grading and the set design are very much apt for the film. Barbie is one of the most anticipated films of the year and fans are more than excited for it. It is definitely going to be a huge hit. Christopher Nolan’s ‘Oppenheimer’ and ‘Barbie’ are two of the biggest films that are to be released in 2023. Barbie is slated to hit the theaters on the 21st of July next year.
