Pakistan is always projected as a dark and crooked state whose job is to send terrorists to India. Well, there are some solid and bloody reasons behind such portrayals. However, Indians have always been enchanted with the contribution of Pakistanis in the field of art. Our previous generations were crazy about Ghulam Ali, Farida Khanum, Mehndi Hassan and many others. Later they were replaced by Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and Atif Aslam.
These days the rage is about Coke Studio, Ali Sethi and more. Needless to say, all you need to do is to check the comment section of Coke Studio, and “Love from India” is all you will find.
But, imagine if Pakistan bans Coke Studio.
In that dreadful world, Pakistanis will lose perhaps the only good thing they produce on a mass scale. This is exactly what the Pakistani government has done to an extraordinarily spectacular show Barzakh.
Binged has always talked about “Barzakh” in great appreciation because they deserve nothing less than that. Just because of a scene where two men brought their lips closer, they banned the entire show. The kind of profound and beautiful show Barzakh is, this could easily bag them an Emmy. However, they totally messed up the entire opportunity.
But the Pakistani administrators might be stupid, but people are not. They will watch the entire series just the way Indians watched Dev Patel’s “Monkey Man”. Perhaps more people are gonna watch Barzakh in Pakistan due to this ban.
We are in complete support of freedom of expression and we definitely feel that Pakistani people should have watched Barzakh normally on YouTube.
