The long-lost documentary film based on The Beatles, ‘Let It Be’, has found a new life on the Disney+ streaming platform. The restored version of the classic 1970 documentary project will soon arrive on the streaming service, the same platform that gave fans the ‘The Beatles: Get Back’ documentary series, another precious feather in Peter Jackson’s sensational filmography. It was a three-episode doc series that arrived on Disney+ in November 2021, and it met with a fantastic response from critics and viewers.
Jackson’s Park Road Post Production has worked its magic again and brought ‘Let It Be’ out of a secret vault. The documentary will arrive on Disney+ on May 8. Mark your calendars!
The original ‘Let It Be’ doc project never received a proper official release. It has been unavailable for streaming, public screening, or broadcasting for over 50 years. Fans of The Beatles had no alternative but to search its low-quality and blurry VHS and laserdisc versions. The film never made it to Blu-Ray, DVD, or any other online streaming service until now.
The upcoming documentary project will contain clips that were not a part of the ‘Get Back’ docuseries. It will explore The Beatles’ last venture as a band and their journey about how they finished recording Let It Be – their final studio album. Stay tuned for more updates.
