Hypnotic has locked a release date. Helmed by Robert Rodriguez, the upcoming Ben Affleck starrer will drop in theaters worldwide on May 12. This piece of news comes after the flick’s workable cut was shown at this year’s SXSW festival. According to early reactions, the sci-fi project took everyone by surprise and received a warm reception on Sunday night.
According to multiple reports, the film’s production has endured many difficulties during its journey from writing to screening. Several critics noted that watching the flick’s ‘work-in-progress’ cut was unusual. But this scenario may benefit the film in terms of PR boost and winning the confidence of financiers.
Affleck pays detective Daniel Rourke in the movie. He finds himself intertwined in a mystery involving his daughter’s disappearance and a secret government agenda. His investigation leads him to several unexpected but highly precarious threats.
Apart from Hypnotic, the leading man will also don Batman’s cape in DC’s The Flash, releasing on June 16. Additionally, he has directed ‘Air’, a biographical drama showcasing the origins of the Air Jordan shoe line, scheduled to come out on April 5.
Directed by Robert Rodriguez, Hypnotic stars Ben Affleck, Alice Braga, Hala Finley, J. D. Pardo, Jeff Fahey, Dayo Okeniyi, Jackie Earle Haley, and William Fichtner. It will be released on May 12. Stay tuned for more updates.
