Director Ben Affleck known for films like Deep Water, Gone Girl and Justice League is all set to direct his next film for Amazon Studios. He is again teaming up with The Departed and The Martian fame Matt Damon.
They have shared the screen in films like Good Will Hunting and The Last Duel. This time, however, it will be the true story of the famous and former Nike executive Sonny Vaccaro.
This time the job of Affleck is going to be a little tedious as he is not only serving as the director but also as a producer and an actor in the same.
Currently, the film co-produced under the banner of Skydance Sports is not titled yet as it is in the very initial stage of making.
Damon will play the role of Vaccarro while Affleck will portray Nike co-founder Phil Knight. The story will revolve around Nike’s herculean journey to sign the then superstar basketball player Michael Jordan to its shoe company. Set in the mid-eighties, the deal getting finalised appeared to be impossible at first but eventually, it brought good results. The man credited behind it is a genius sneaker salesman, who became the man behind the strong ties between the sportsman and the brand.
