Bengali language fantasy comedy film ‘Kolkatar Harry‘ is all set to premiere digitally on Zee5 from July 15th. The film had a theatrical release in the month of May already. Safe to say that ‘Jaadugar’ on Netflix India and ‘Kolkatar Harry’ will act as a double bill feature in the magical comedy sub-genre this weekend.
Directed by Rajdeep Ghosh, the children’s film is conceptualised as a light hearted family drama that bridges the gap magic and realism. ‘Kolkatar Harry’ follows the story of a 10-year-old Titli and her rapport with her carpool driver Harinath Patra. Harinath loves magic and enjoys showcasing his tricks on the streets of Calcutta. As he is an avid fan of the Harry Potter series, he is called ‘Kolkatar Harry’. ‘Kolkatar Harry’ is a modern day fairy tale that creates a magical world with the intent of spreading happiness. The film has some really good performances and an impactful takeaway message. Not only is Kolkatar Harry a staple Children’s film, but also gives a message of letting children be.
Kolkatar Harry is bank-rolled by Soham’s Entertainment. Priyanka Sarkar, Laboni Sarkar, Arindam Ganguly and Oishika Guhathakurata and Soham Chakraborty appear in the film in major roles. Through Zee5, the film is bound to gather a universal audience devoid language barriers.
