After the smashing success of ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan’, Netflix is all set to premiere its next direct to digital movie. Titled ‘Bhakshak’, the hard-hitting social drama will release on Netflix worldwide on 9th February, 2024.
‘Bhakshak’ is said to be inspired from real-life incidents, encompassing heinous crimes committed against girls and women in shelters for women. The movie comes from Shah Rukh and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment. It stars Bhumi Pednekar as a journalist who pursues the truth relentlessly, despite grave danger to her life from the powerful people at the center of the crime.
The movie also stars Sanjay Mishra, Aditya Srivastava, Sai Tamhankar, Durgesh Kumar, among others, in pivotal roles. Netflix’s ‘Bhakshak’ is directed by Pulkit, written by him and Jyotsana Nath, and produced by Gauri Khan and Gaurav Verma for Red Chillies Entertainment.
The short teaser that accompanied the release announcement of ‘Bhakshak’ lays bare a dark, murky story of abuse and exploitation of women, in a place that is meant to provide them a safe haven in society.
