“All is fair in love and war”. John Lyly, the dramatist would never have imagined how misunderstood this statement would become centuries after he wrote this. Being logical is indeed extremely difficult in matters of love and war but at the same time, is it truly important to shed away all rationality?
Well, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is doing something similar. It is no news that the director is one of the most genius filmmakers of our generation and he is highly successful too. Who could have pulled off a super high budget original series like Heeramandi: The Diamond Bazaar if not Sanjay Leela Bhansali to such great success?
Well, the filmmaker is ready for his next project and it is titled “Love and War”. You must also be aware that it stars Alia Bhatt, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal.
The three will be working together to get the film released by March 20, 2026.
Regardless, Bhansali is treading a really risky path for the film. The man has opted for a no studio approach for the film. The man will not be taking any money from any studio and will finance the film himself. He has secured a mammoth deal with Netflix India which will only go upward after its much needed success at the box office.
He has also gotten a huge deal with Saregama Music for some strange reasons, as the man launched his own music company just a few months back.
Even the actors are working at negligible fees as they would be earning through the profits of the film. The bottom line is Bhansali is directing every penny towards making the film, and he is not ready to share it with any studio like Viacom18 or Eros Now like he used to in the past.
Let’s hope that “Love and War” gets all the love.
