‘Bhediya’ trailer is here and apart from the horror comedy angle it’s the computer graphics in the film that makes it impressive. While the comic part is as expected given that the film comes from the makers of ‘Stree’, ‘Bala’ and ‘Roohi’, it’s the VFX in ‘Bhediya’ that stands out the most.
And why wouldn’t it be, after all the award winning multinational company Moving Picture Company (MPC) is handling the VFX for ‘Bhediya’. That raises the expectations from the film to the next level or rather Hollywood level given the massive credits this company has to its name.
MPC is a studio that provides visual effects, CGI, animation, motion design and other such services and has worked on films like ‘1917’, ‘The Jungle Book’, ‘Life of Pi’, ‘Harry Potter’ film franchise, ‘Batman Begins’, ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’, ‘The Martian’, ‘The Revenant’, ‘Wonder Woman’, ‘Top Gun: Maverick’, ‘The Lion King’, ‘Godzilla Vs Kong’ and many more.
Going ahead VFX is going to play a major role in making or breaking a film that use it and that’s why it becomes extremely important for the filmmakers to take the right decision. As far as ‘Bhediya’ is concerned, for now, going by the trailer, makers seem to have down a pretty decent job.
VFX has been playing a huge role in some of the recent films in the Indian film industry and rightly so. ‘Brahmastra’ received a lot of praise for its graphics but on the other hand ‘Adipurush’ and ‘Ram Setu’ got a lot of flak for its cartoonish style VFX. The latest film that’s being judged for the same is Varun Dhawan’s ’Bhediya’ and while the trailer is impactful, it’s only after the film releases in theatres on 25th November, 2022 that the picture will become clearer.
