If there are two films that are the most hotly awaited on streaming, they are most certainly Vikram Vedha and Bhediya. The Hrithik Roshan – Saif Ali Khan starrer Vikram Vedha released in theatres on 29th September, 2022, which makes it an eye-popping 6&1/2 months of no OTT release for the film. Likewise, Varun Dhawan – Kriti Sanon starrer Bhediya released in theatres on 24th November, 2022, which is 4&1/2 months of no OTT release for Bhediya.
We at Binged had informed our readers that the Bhediya OTT release date and Vikram Vedha OTT release date have been delayed because Jio Cinema, the platform that has bought the streaming rights for both much-awaited films, is holding on to their OTT premieres.
We had also informed our readers the reason for the above – Jio Cinema is coming up with a brand new streaming platform that will combine Jio Cinema with Voot Select, into one single OTT platform. Regular followers of Binged must know that Mukesh Ambani’s Jio Cinema has bought Viacom 18 Studios in India, along with its streaming arm, Voot Select. Now, the company is bringing out a combined streaming platform for both OTTs, which is likely to be renamed ‘Jio Voot’.
And guess what? Jio Cinema has a slew of announcements happening this minute at the Jio Convention Center in Mumbai. However, even as the event is on-going, information on the Vikram Vedha and Bhediya OTT release dates has leaked to sources in the media.
So here it is – as per inside sources, Bhediya will premiere on the new revamped Jio Cinema platform on 21st April, 2023. Vikram Vedha has locked an OTT release date for 8th May on the platform. Also, here’s the additional good news – both films will be available to audiences to watch for free – yes, no paid subscriptions needed!
