The government of Andhra Pradesh imposed on cinema ticket pricing in cinema halls across the state back in April this year. The decision was taken on the very same day as the release of Pawan Kalyan‘s Vakeel Saab. This decision drew stern backlash from Pawan Kalyan’s fans and eventually from Tollywood personnel as well. Now, the whole development has played a decisive role in the theatrical release plans for Pawan Kalyan’s upcoming film, Bheemla Nayak.
Bheemla Nayak was initially announced for theatrical release on the 12th of January 2022. But a few days ago, it was heard that the makers of the Pawan Kalyan and Rana starrer have decided to postpone the film’s release in order to avoid a head-on clash with RRR and Radhe Shyam which are releasing on the 7th and 14th of January respectively. There were rumors that the film’s release has been pushed from 12th January to a later date, preferably a solo release date.
Today, the makers of Bheemla Nayak dropped an affirmative update on the film’s release date. They have announced that the film will indeed be releasing in theatres on the 12th of January, as announced earlier. Well, this really is a wise decision.
Pawan Kalyan had aleady irked the government of Andhra Pradesh by speaking against the chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at the pre-release event of Republic. Now, if Bheemla Nayak picks a solo release date, the chances of the film being subject to suppression by the government of Andhra Pradesh are substantially high. So, releasing the film next Sankranthi while RRR and Radhe Shyam will also be hitting the marquee would be a wise move. This way, Andhra Pradesh government cannot solely discriminate Bheemla Nayak as it would draw flak. Now that Bheemla Nayak has locked 12th January as the release date, it will be releasing alongside biggies like RRR and Radhe Shyam, thus dodging the ‘YS Jagan’ missile
