The official trailer for ‘Bholaa’ is out now and fans are excited as ever to see Ajay Devgn in and as Bholaa fighting goons alongside Tabu. Bholaa is an action thriller and is the official remake of the Tamil movie ‘Kaithi’ starring Karthi. It will hit the theaters on the 30th of March this year.
The film will tell the story of a police officer played by Tabu who wants to keep goons off from saving their leader from an almost deserted police station. She takes help from a criminal who has just been released, played by Ajay. It does not look like the story of one single night as in Kaithi as there are glimpses from various days, most probably flashbacks or backstories. The relationship between Bholaa and his daughter and wife is explored more here. It is difficult to predict how people will react to the addition of item numbers and romantic moments to a solid thriller that happens in one single night.
The original story is written by Lokesh Kanagaraj and the adapted screenplay is written by Aamil Keeyan Khan, Ankush Singh, Sandeep Kewlani and Shriidhar Dubey. Ajay Devgn puts on the hat of the director for the fourth time. Last time he was seen directing a movie was ‘Runway 34’ and it did not work out very well with the audiences. But Bholaa is something different. The trailer looks awesome. The color palette is beautiful and an interesting story like ‘Kaithi’ has become visually more stunning with the cinematography and lighting. The music by Ravi Basrur is upbeat and fits well.
The cast includes other actors like Sanjay Mishra, Deepak Dobriyal, Gajraj Rao and Vineet Kumar. Deepak Dobriyal is absolutely terrific in his role. All the actors are pretty impressive in the trailer.
Ajay Devgn has made many changes to the film and it is good that it is not a frame to frame remake. Drishyam 2 was a success because the Hindi dubbed version of the film was not available anywhere. Bholaa on the other hand is a riskier project as ‘Kaithi’ was a tremendous hit and the Hindi version had gained much popularity in the north belt. Nonetheless, fans are excited and hopefully Bholaa will turn out to be one of the biggest hits of the year.
