A few months back, we had informed our readers about Arjun Kapoor’s next movie ‘The Ladykiller’ in which he is essaying the titular role. And now, it has been revealed by the makers that Bhumi Pednekar has been cast as the female lead in ‘The Ladykiller’ movie. The film is being touted as a thrilling and nerve-racking love story.
As of now, not much is known about the precise plot of this romantic-thriller, suspense-drama movie ‘The Ladykiller’. In the film, Arjun Kapoor will ostensibly essay the titular role of a small-town playboy (as the name suggests) who falls in love with a troubled but beautiful woman. Arjun Kapoor had previously called it his most ambitious film yet.
‘The Ladykiller’ is being helmed by Ajay Bahl, who had previously directed the riveting courtroom drama ‘Section 375’ (2019) starring Akshaye Khanna, Richa Chadha, and Rahul Bhatt in the lead roles. Ajay Bahl had made his directorial debut in the year 2012 with the critically acclaimed erotic thriller ‘B.A. Pass’.
Bhumi Pednekar had garnered widespread acclaim for her award-winning performance in her 2015 debut film – the comedy-drama ‘Dum Laga Ke Haisha’ opposite Ayushmann Khurrana. She went on to star in films like ‘Toilet: Ek Prem Katha’, ‘Sonchiriya’, ‘Saand Ki Aankh’, and ‘Bala’, amongst others.
Bhumi Pednekar’s forthcoming movies include ‘Badhaai Ho’ co-starring Rajkummar Rao, Aanand L. Rai’s ‘Raksha Bandhan’ alongside Akshay Kumar, and Shashank Khaitan’s comedy movie ‘Mr Lele’ co-starring Vicky Kaushal. ‘The Ladykiller’ is being produced by Bhushan Kumar, Shaailesh R Singh, and Krishan Kumar.
