Amazon Prime Video seems to be acing their game. After the recent back-to-back success of ‘Shershaah’ and ‘Sardar Udham’, we learnt about their 5 film deal with YashRaj Films, that includes the Saif-Rani starrer ‘Bunty Aur Babli 2’, Akshay Kumar’s ‘Prithviraj’, Ranveer Singh’s ‘Jayeshbhai Jordaar’ and Ranbir Kapoor’s ‘Shamshera’. According to the latest buzz, the streaming giant has just inked a similar massive deal with producer Sajid Nadiadwala‘s banner, Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment. Read on to know all about it!
The production house is looking at a fantastic slate of films starting from the Ayan Shetty-Tara Sutaria starrer, ‘Tadap’, that will also premiere on Prime Video. The next 5 films from Nadiadwala Grandson Entertainment are Akshay Kumar‘s ‘Bachchan Pandey‘, Tiger Shroff-Tara Sutaria starrer ‘Heropanti 2‘, Salman Khan’s ‘Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali’ and ‘Kick 2’ and lastly, Kartik Aryan’s ‘Satyanarayan Ki Katha’. The above mentioned five films are among the most anticipated films of next year and the deal is indeed a mega-contract.
It is said that post talks with all major OTT players, Sajid Nadiadwala finalized the deal with Amazon Prime Video for a whopping figure reportedly higher than 250 crores! Apparently, the film that fetched the maximum amount is the Salman Khan starrer, ‘Kick 2’, that is still in the scripting stage and has not even begun filming yet. The contract is said to be a flexible one, so neither theatrical nor OTT release dates have been fixed yet. Although ‘Tadap’ will be released in a four-week window as per the current situation, the same cannot be said about the other films.
