Shefali Shah and Jim Sarbh have been nominated in the Emmy Awards for 2023 for their performances in ‘Delhi Crime S2’ and ‘Rocket Boys S2’. They are selected in the category of best performance by an actress/actor.
The winners will be announced on the 20th of November. This is a moment of pride for all Indians that such valuable performances are getting international recognition.
This is the second time for Shefali Shah in the Emmys as the first season of ‘Delhi Crime’ was the winner in the ‘Best Drama Series’ category in 2020. Fans hope that the series repeats the historic win. Previously, Nawazuddin Siddiqui had won an Emmy but for a British series. Radhika Apte and Arjun Mathur were nominated for the prestigious award for their performances in ‘Lust Stories’ and ‘Made In Heaven’ but they could not make it to the win. Hopefully, this time it will be different and India will have an Emmy For acting.
‘Delhi Crime’ season 2 is the sequel to the 2020 series Delhi Crime that was based on the Nirbhaya case. The second season is based on both real and fictional events and is a wonderful watch. It streams on Netflix. Shefali Shah plays the tough police officer investigating the ghastly crimes. The second season of ‘Rocket Boys’ on SonyLIV extends the story of the first season further and tells the story of bright scientists like Homi Jehangir Bhava and Vikram Sarabhai and how they take India to the forefront of space exploration. Jim Sarbh has played the role of Dr. Homi Bhava.
This nomination is historic and the internet is flooding with congratulatory tweets. India prays that both actors win the Emmy, an award that they truly deserve.
