The time has finally come! We are just one day away from the release of the highly anticipated OTT version of the hit reality show. We have been seeing snippets by the makers everyday of how Over The Top this season is going to be. Apparently, the digital show will feature 12 contestants competing against each other for 6 weeks for the trophy. The top performers will then head on to the Television show hosted by Salman Khan, though it’s still unclear as to how many will get chosen.
A teaser earlier released by the makers showed Host Karan Johar telling the viewers that if the contestants didnt perform the tasks given to them, it would lead to punishments and these would be decided by the viewers! The makers are planning to make this truly Over The Top version an interactive one, where they will involve the views and suggestions of the millions of fans watching.
Voot had been releasing teasers this week with clues for the fans to guess the contestants. The first contestant to be confirmed was singer Neha Bhasin, followed by actor Karan Nath (of ‘Yeh Dil Aashiqanaa’ fame) and ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ actor Zeeshan Khan, who quit the hit TV serial to join the reality show. The next two contestants to get confirmed were the lead couple in ‘Hamari Bahu Rajnikant’, Raqesh Bapat and Ridhima Pandit. Raqesh made his Bollywood debut with 2001’s sleeper hit ‘Tum Bin’, but his film career didn’t quite take off, though he became one of the top television actors. Fans are very excited to see him on the show, especially since his ex-wife Ridhi Dogra is making news for her great performance in AltBalaji’s recent web series ‘The Married Woman’.
Actress Divya Agarwal, who was seen in ‘Ragini MMS Returns’ is not new to reality shows. She was the winner of Ace of Spade Season 1 and runner-up in MTV Splitsvilla Season 10 and has also been confirmed for the reality show’s digital version. Apart from them, TV actress Urfi Javed (of ‘Meri Durga’ fame), MTV star Pratik Sehajpal, Bhojpuri actress Akshara Singh, singer Milind Gaba and choreographer Nishant Bhat have also been reportedly roped in for the show. The makers have heen quite secretive about the contestants and want to keep the other names under wraps and unveil them only during the show’s premiere.
The contestants had been placed under quarantine and post a final Covid test today, they will enter the show and shoot for their entry performances. Bigg Boss OTT will stream on Voot from Monday to Friday at 7 pm and on weekends at 8 pm. Viewers will also get 24×7 access via the live feed streaming on the platform.
