Kareena’s portrayal of the talkative, bubbly, Geet, really wins you over. This 2007 Imtiaz Ali directorial, oozing with charm, is a story of two strangers who meet on a train journey and gradually fall in love. Also starring Shahid Kapoor in the lead, this rom-com went on to achieve cult status over time. It was with this movie that the career graphs of both Shahid and Kareena took off big time. With great music and heartwarmingly honest performances, this movie is truly worth a watch.

2. CHAMELI (NETFLIX)
Kareena plays a prostitute in this 2003 film, directed by Sudhir Mishra and Anant Balani. Another tale of two strangers, a banker (played by Rahul Bose) and a prostitute who meet and take shelter one night, from heavy rains lashing Mumbai city. What is applause worthy is Kareena’s bold portrayal of an unconventional role so early on in her career, which may have been instrumental in cementing her position as one of the finer actors in Bollywood.

3. WE ARE FAMILY (NETFLIX)
This 2010 Siddharth Malhotra directed family drama is a great mix of fun and emotion. Kareena plays the new love interest of a man (who then separates from his wife) and handles the role with great maturity.
