Netflix has announced the release date of its upcoming Spanish original series ‘Jaguar’ starring Blanca Suárez in the lead. This exciting new series from Bambú Producciones will launch globally only on Netflix on 22nd September, 2021.
Ramón Campos and Gema R. Neira have co-created ‘Jaguar’ and also co-written it with David Orea, Salvador S. Molina, and Moises Gómez. The series is set in 1960s Spain when it was a refuge for hundreds of Nazis after World War II. Isabel Garrido, a young woman who managed to survive the Mauthausen extermination camp, is on the trail of Bachmann, known as the most dangerous man in Europe. She will discover that she is not alone in her mission, and will unite with a group of agents in the search of justice. Her code name:”Jaguar”.
The date announcement video released by Netflix is that of inside a fancy restaurant while the narrator explains in the background how the 1960s Spain has been a party for some people. Full of luxury, power and business it become the perfect place for an executioner to hide.
The narrator further explains how Spain’s glamour helped many Nazis to hide in plain sight after they fled the war. They are amongst the natives living their life as if they have nothing to hide. But the narrator also tells that they can’t forget who they are or what they did to them and what they are capable of doing. They know the real faces of these Nazis and its their memories that is their best weapon.
Directed by Carlos Sedes and Jacobo Martínez, ‘Jaguar’ stars Blanca Suárez (Las Chicas del Cable, El Bar) in the role of Isabel Garrido, Iván Marcos (45 Revoluciones, Fariña) as Lucena, Francesc Garrido (Smoking Room, Grietas) as Marsé, Adrián Lastra (Primos, Velvet) as Sordo, and Óscar Casas (Siempre Bruja, Instinto) as Castro.
Filmed in different locations across Spain, the shooting for the Netflix series had begun in August last year. ‘Jaguar’ will release exclusively on Netflix on 22nd September, 2021.
