Netflix has finally unveiled the official trailer of ‘Blonde’ today. The team dropped a surprisingly well cut teaser around a month ago where Ana De Armas caught the world by storm as she played the nuances of Marilyn Monroe. Blonde is slated to release on Netflix worldwide by September 28th.
Blonde is an upcoming biopic where Ana de Armas plays pop culture legend, the sensational show-biz icon Marilyn Monroe. An adaptation of the bestselling novel of the same name written by Joyce Carol Oates, Blonde explores how the Hollywood industry failed her and her identity.
The trailer follows fictionalized version of Monroe’s life with a striking and painful tagline ‘Watched by all..seen by none’ perfectly summarising how hollywood and the audience did her wrong. Ana De Armas as Monroe says she was discovered and how the blitz and glamour destroyed her own sense of being. She remarks of playing Marilyn Monroe over and over again, put up a farce all while she craved to be Norma Jean. The trailer showcases moments of the hollywood blonde beauty’s rise and catastrophic fall, all while enduring most traumatic experiences of her life from her volatile childhood to her troubled stardom, derailed romantic relationships and the widening split of her identity.
Ana e Armas looks and performs like she is cut out to play Monroe. According to reports before the team rounded on Ana de Armas, Naomi Watts and Jessica Chastain were previously attached to the project. However, the trailer screams a perfect casting decision. Blonde’s cast also includes Adrien Brody as the Playwright Arthur Miller , Bobby Cannavale as baseball player Joe DiMaggio (one of Monroe’s spouses) and Caspar Phillipson as President John F. Kennedy. Blonde is directed by Andrew Dominik and Brad Pitt’s production company, Plan B Entertainment bankrolled ‘Blonde’. Blonde will stream on Netflix India and worldwide from September 28th, 2022.
