‘Blood Red Sky’ On Netflix: Chilling Tale Of A Mother Protecting Her Son

‘Blood Red Sky’ On Netflix: Chilling Tale Of A Mother Protecting Her Son

Trailer for ‘Blood Red Sky’, Netflix’s upcoming action-horror film is now out. The suspense filled British-German film is directed by Peter Thorwarth, who has co-written the film with Stefan Holtz. ‘Blood Red Sky’ will premiere globally on Netflix on 23rd July, 2021.

The trailer begins with an airport scene where Nadja (Peri Baumeister) is about to board a flight along with her 10-year old son Elias. But before that during the security check she is inquired about the medicine she is carrying.

While she explains about having a prescription for them, her son is seen talking to a man and telling him how the medicine helps his mother’s body to create new healthy blood. He also tells him about the doctor in the US who can help her mother with her condition.

What was supposed to be a lazy overnight flight soon turns into a nightmare for the passengers when a group of terrorists violently hijack it. In the midst of all this Elias wanders off and while looking for him Nadja gets shot by one of the terrorists.

But what comes later is the real twist of the film. Nadja rises from the dead to protect her son and in the process unleashes the dark secret she has been hiding. She is seen transforming into a monster that was always within her. While the armed forces are trying to save everyone from outside, Nadja has started a hunt of her own on the inside. Towards the end of the trailer, it gives a glimpse of what Nadja is, how the evil is within her and how it’s not within her control.

As per the official synopsis Netflix’s ‘Blood Red Sky’, “Nadja and her ten-year-old son are on an overnights flight from Germany to New York when a group of terrorists violently take control of the plane and threaten the lives of the passengers. Suddenly, Nadja faces an impossible choice – should she reveal her dark side and the inner monster she has kept hidden from her son for years in order to save him?”

The film stars Roland Møller (‘Land of Mine’, ‘A Hijacking’), Peri Baumeister (‘The Last Kingdom’, ‘Skyline’), Chidi Ajufo (‘The Gentlemen’, ‘The Widow’), Dominic Purcell (‘Prison Break’, ‘The Flash’) and Alexander Scheer (‘Carlos’) among others. It is produced by Christian Becker for Rat Pack Filmproduktion and Benjamin Munz.

‘Blood Red Sky’ will launch only on Netflix on 23rd July, 2021 and is among the 71 original films that will release on Netflix in 2021, with one new movie releasing every week.
