Disney Plus Hotstar is beset with a string of streaming woes. Latest episodes of popular shows are still not streaming on the platform, despite premiering hours ago in the US. First it was ‘The Book Of Boba Fett‘ Episode 4 that was delayed. Next, it is the turn of the buzzy episode 3 of popular show ‘This Is Us’ Season 6 that is still not available to stream for viewers in India. It was supposed to release at 11:30 am.
Even more irritating is the fact that the platform has still not premiered the debut episodes of much-awaited Hulu original show, ‘How I Met Your Father‘. The series was to premiere at 1:30 pm on Disney Plus Hotstar today afternoon.
Disney Plus Hotstar is caught in the midst of agonising streaming woes. Several days ago, Disney+ Hotstar users bombarded social media with complaints of terrible buffering issues on the Disney Plus Hotstar app on the web. A volley of queries hit Disney Plus Hotstar’s help handle on Twitter. Apparently, the fault lay in undersea cable failure.
Disney Plus Hotstar replied to queries with a less-than-satisfactory explanation for the streaming issues. It said, “Due to an undersea cable failure, we are experiencing degraded performance on our Web & some other platforms. In the meanwhile, you can watch the content on Android or iOS mobile and living room devices. We regret the inconvenience caused.”
However, contrary to Disney Plus Hotstar’s clarification that mobile users can watch their preferred content on their mobiles, there were tons of complaints from users who weren’t able to stream Disney Plus Hotstar content on their Android or iOS mobile devices.
Now, even though the problem seems to have been resolved per Disney Plus Hotstar, streaming problems continue to linger on for users on the platform.
Twitter and Disney Plus Hotstar user Ishdeep Singh says he’s facing buffering issues even with an internet speed of 200 mbps. Here’s his tweet –

As if buffering and lagging issues weren’t enough, Disney Plus Hotstar is now beset with unexplained delays in the streaming of new episodes of popular titles. Episode 4 of popular Star Wars show ‘The Book Of Boba Fett’ began streaming a couple of hours late. ‘This Is Us’ Season 6 Episode 3 has still not landed on the platform. Ditto for ‘How I Met Your Father’ Episodes 1 & 2.
Meanwhile, buffering, lagging, freezing issues on Disney Plus Hotstar linger on and on and on…..
