It is okay to shed tears, people! Brad Pitt has teased his retirement in his recent interview with GQ. The prominent actor has given more than three decades to the Hollywood industry. His acting journey commenced at the age of 24 with the television show 21 Jump Street. The character of ‘J.D.’ in Ridley Scott’s Thelma & Louise helped him gain worldwide recognition.
“I consider myself on my last leg,” Pitt said in his GQ August 2022 cover story. “This last semester or trimester. What is this section gonna be? And how do I wanna design that?”
The actor received his first Golden Globe nomination (Best Supporting Actor) for his performance in Edward Zwick’s Legends of the Fall. And bagged the same accolade for Terry Gilliam’s 12 Monkeys next year. He also got nominated for Best Supporting Actor at 68th Academy Awards for the same movie.
“I’m one of those creatures that speak through art,” he explained. “I just want to always make. If I’m not making, I’m dying in some way.”
Pitt played Cliff Booth, a stunt double and war veteran, in Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. His outstanding work in the film aided him in bagging his first-ever Oscar at the 92nd Academy Awards.
In addition to contemplating his legacy, Pitt also revealed he took part in multiple Alcoholics Anonymous meetings after his split with Angelina Jolie in 2016.
“I had a really cool men’s group here that was really private and selective, so it was safe,” he remembered.
Fans recently saw Brad Pitt in an extended cameo in The Lost City with Sandra Bullock and Channing Tatum serving as the leading duo. Plus, he plays Ladybug, a lethal but unlucky assassin, in David Leitch’s upcoming directional project, Bullet Train. Furthermore, we will witness him portraying “The Great Lover” of the silent film era, John Gilbert, in Damien Chazelle’s period drama, Babylon, scheduled to hit the theatres on December 25. Stay tuned for more updates.
