Brahmāstra Comes Out To Be A VFX Centric Spectacle But With…

Finally after huge anticipation, Brahmāstra: Part One Shiva is now running in the theatres. The film stars Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy, and Nagarjuna Akkineni.

It is undoubtedly one of the biggest films to come out from Bollywood or Indian cinema as a whole. Given the taste of the audience after the pandemic, it is pretty important for the movie to survive at the box office.

Will it be successful at creating an impact at the box office?

Going by the early response and quality of the film, definitely yes.

But, is Brahmāstra a great film?

Absolutely NO.

The movie is above average in terms of story and problem statement. Instead of a great script, Ayan Mukerji relies more on the visuals which is the USP of the film.

The worst part of the movie has to be the romantic angle between the leads. The concept of love, at first sight is too cheesy for the audience of 2022 and it certainly does not have any significant impact on the story.

We wish it could be far better.

But should you consider watching Brahmāstra?

Yes, of course.

Even after too many flaws, one can’t forget that the film is a visual spectacle. The second half especially relies mostly on firy and bright VFX which is really good. It is not something unprecedented if you have watched films like Star Wars, but It’s good.

So overall, Brahmāstra is a decent watch that can be enjoyed in the theatres. The average audience may find the film to be bonkers but given the budget, it’s important to see how much it earns at the box office.
