We love Tabu and there are no two opinions about that. She is easily one of the best actresses we have seen in the history of Indian cinema and she goes on to solidify such claims with her every project. Lately after a phenomenal comeback with Haider, she has been highly active in films and series.
Though it will not be her first Hollywood Project, Tabu will be cast in a RECURRING IMPORTANT role in “Dune: Prophecy”. Yes, you read it right.
If you are unaware, Dune: Prophecy is the prequel to the Dune franchise which needs no introduction. It is a highly successful film franchise and easily one of the best and grandest films from Hollywood in recent years.
Dune: Prophecy will revolve around the character of Rebecca Ferguson who plays the mother of Paul Atreides.
The series, originally titled “Dune: The Sisterhood,” is inspired by the novel “Sisterhood of Dune” by Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson. Set in the vast universe of ‘Dune,’ the show takes place 10,000 years before the rise of Paul Atreides and follows two Harkonnen sisters as they battle threats to humanity’s future and establish the Bene Gesserit sect.
Tabu will play Sister Francesca, a character described as strong, intelligent, and alluring. Her return to the palace strains the balance of power in the capital, as she was once a great love of the Emperor.
Tabu needs no introduction for Indian fans, but just to tell you, she has won the National Film Award for Best Actress twice and received numerous accolades for her roles in films like “Cheeni Kum,” “Haider,” and “Andhadhun.” She has also appeared in international productions such as “Life of Pi” and “The Namesake.”
The series also features Emily Watson, Olivia Williams, Travis Fimmel, and others.
The ‘Dune’ franchise has seen success with two films grossing over $1.1 billion collectively, with a third film in development. Expectations have reached sky high with the addition of Tabu. There is no release date, but it will be released on Max in the USA and JioCinema in India.
