After Martin Scorsese another legendary figure takes a dig at the current state of cinema and the impact of ‘comic book films’. Brian Cox has expressed his views on cinema at present in a recent interview.
He said, “What’s happened is that television is doing what cinema used to do. I think cinema is in a very bad way.” While we can see the reason behind his grudge, there is plenty to disagree with him too according to netizens. The people on the internet are divided regarding his comments and some support what he has to say. Cox goes on to say that cinema has lost its space partly due to the grandiose of Marvel, DC and that it is actually going to implode now.
He resonates with Martin Scorsese who said that the MCU movies are more like theme parks and there is very little to offer there. Brian Cox says that the over-commercialization of comic-book movies has made the value of them diluted and the plot seems to be lost. Many people on social media agree with him. But it is also natural when people say he does not understand this kind of cinema anymore because he is over that age and he should not blame young people for enjoying what they like.
