WarnerMedia has reiterated its commitment to ensure that maximum markets in the world get to watch its much awaited Justice League Snyder Cut at the same time as the regions where it is definitely streaming. Zack Snyder’s Justice League releases on March 18 on HBO Max in the US, and on other WarnerMedia platforms in select regions of the world.
In a statement to NDTV’s Gadgets 360, WarnerMedia said: “We know how much Zack Snyder’s Justice League means to our legions of DC fans in India and are fully committed to making the movie as widely available as possible around the same time as the global premiere on March 18. We are in discussions with local and global partners and will have more details shortly.”
WarnerMedia has a symbiotic partnership with multiple streaming services in India. All of its HBO content is available to watch on Disney Plus Hotstar, while most of its other content is available on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video. Besides that, WarnerMedia has an exclusive long-term content deal with Amazon Prime Video which brings all the latest and biggest content from the Warner Bros. library to Amazon Prime Video in India.
If WarnerMedia stays true to its word then it’s very likely that Zack Snyder’s Justice League will stream on any of these three platforms around the same time as the other regions where it has the wherewithal to stream Justice League Snyder Cut. These are – on HBO Max in the US, on Crave in Canada, on HBO Go in parts of East Asian countries, and on HBO services in select European countries.
In all the other markets of the world, WarnerMedia has said it is exploring partnerships with global and local partners to bring Zack Snyder’s Justice League to DC fans as quickly as possible. WarnerMedia’s hurry to stream the much awaited superhero movie also stems from the fact that it will be a prime target for piracy. Within minutes of its streaming on the aforementioned platforms, pirated versions will make their way to the rest of the world.
India is anyways notorious for streaming pirated versions of any and every content available online. It is also a huge market for DC content. It will be a win-win for both Indian viewers and WarnerMedia if the latter comes through on its word to stream Justice League Snyder Cut in India along with the rest of the world.
