Sean Bean and Stephen Graham are back together to work on a new three-part series drama by BBC One. Both actors have worked together before on the 2012 drama series ‘The Accused’. The prison mini drama looks like it is going to be an ‘essential viewing’ (when it releases).
Titled ‘Time’, Graham plays the role of an honest and caring prison officer Eric Reid, a man who has to make an impossible choice between his core principles and his love for his family. Sean Bean plays a teacher Mark Hebden, who killed a man in an accident, and gets sentenced to jail (where Reid works) for manslaughter for 4 years.
The plot follows the two men, as time passes by them. Through their differing perspectives, we are given an intimate look into the visceral and high risk life, in a modern British prison. Both the characters are trapped by their pasts and unable to see much prospects for their futures. Both of them have to learn to adapt and survive their current situations, so that they may have a brighter future.
The writer for the new BBC One series Jimmy McGovern, who also wrote the aforementioned ‘The Accused’, has expressed his delight in working with both Sean Bean and Stephen Graham again. He is also excited to work with the young yet brilliant director Lewis Arnold.
The project is set to start shooting this is Autumn in Liverpool, but no release date has been announced as of now.
