Hindi film ‘Lakadbaggha’ surprised everyone when it landed on the most anticipated list of Indian movies on IMDb. ‘Lakadbaggha’ is described as an “animal-lover vigilante” movie. It is directed by Victor Mukherjee, and stars actors Anshuman Jha, Ridhi Dogra, Milind Soman and Paresh Pahuja in pivotal roles. The film has been made as a two-part franchise, with the second part slated to arrive next year. ‘Lakadbaggha’ is produced by First Ray Films.
The film is set in the backdrop of Kolkata, and centres on a martial arts expert Arjun (Anshuman Jha), who teaches martial arts to children during the day and turns into a saviour of street dogs at night. Arjun is in for a shock one night, when he comes across a ‘Lakadbaggha’ aka Indian striped hyena. He discovers that the animal is an endangered species in India, and the target of an illegal animal trade operation in Kolkata. The film follows Arjun as he singlehandedly takes on the animal trade mafia.
