Call Me Bae, is an upcoming drama series starring Ananya Pandey in the lead role. The series is to be released on September 6th on Amazon Prime. It is supposed to be a riches to rags story of a girl named Bella Chowdhary or Bae (played by Ananya) who has to struggle to live as she loses all her money. The series is already being bashed for Ananya’s sub-par acting and for promotion of nepotism. Also, people are trolling Ananya for playing the role of a character she already is. Amidst this, we get to know that somehow, audiences are waiting eagerly for the show to launch.
Call Me Bae, as per IMDB’s list of the Most Anticipated Indian Movies and TV Shows, stands on the 9th spot as of now, which keeps changing. The series, as per IMDB, has about 5.7% of the audience viewing the page of the story in the website. The list is topped by the likes of The Greatest of All Time and IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack with 21.1% and 13.1% of page views respectively. This shows that though the series is completely being rejected by the vox populi still, people are internally quite eager for it.
One question remains as to how this series gets a spot on the list, whereas many anticipated movies do not find a place there. The answer might be, the list is prepared according to the number of views the pages addressing the movie get in the website. It might be possible that movies are being checked on other websites. Also, there might be a possibility that the people are not checking out movies at all as they are getting advertised about them through various means.
Whatever be the reason, one cannot unsee the fact that Call Me Bae has surpassed many good movies to become one of the most anticipated films and series in India.
