If there was a director known for taking up humongous tasks, James Cameron is the name that comes out on top. Whether it be for carving out the insane dystopia of the Skynet manifest terminator timeline or to explore the otherworldly landscapes of Pandora in the AVATAR franchise. Cameron never disappoints. This time Cameron has taken up the challenge to showcase the horrors of Hiroshima, which has sparked the fan base.
The filmmaker has recently purchased the rights to the adaptation of the soon to be released book “Ghosts of Hiroshima.” The book is a sequel to the 2015 book “The Last Train from Hiroshima.” From the writer Charles Pellegrino, the book is set to release in August 2025.
The story follows engineer Tsutomu Yamaguchi. The only person who survived not one but both the bombings on Japan at the end of World War II. The bombings claimed the lives of more than 210,000 people.
As of now, the director is too busy fine-tuning the next installment of the AVATAR series. The next movie in line is titled “AVATAR: Fire and Ash,” which will be the continuation of the story of the much-acclaimed sequel “AVATAR: Way of the Water.” However, the acclamation of the rights to the book gives us an idea of what new story the director will present us after the AVATAR series concludes.
