Glen Powell is one of the latest big shots of Hollywood. It is understandable that he will be fancast as the next Ethan Hunt after Tom Cruise after the action star finally hangs up the role. The man is already pushing past the age of 60 years. And given Powell joined him in the return of Top Gun as Hangman, it makes sense for him to take up the role of the insane Mission Impossible agent Ethan Hunt.
The actor, however, denied the possibility of him taking up the role. Stating that his mother will never allow it. which makes sense, as the kind of stunts Cruise performs by himself in these movies is insane. Tom Cruise probably makes his insurance company sweat every time he signs a movie.
However, if we look at the possibility of Glenn taking up the role, it is not that out of the realm. The man is one hell of an actor and has showcased his versatility on multiple occasions. He can certainly nail the cocky yet determined attitude Tom Cruise’s Ethan Hunt is known for.
Still, the thought is not coming to reality anytime soon, as the devilishly handsome Cruise has made his intentions clear that he wants to play hunt even in his eighties. The recent entry of the franchise will soon have its premiere. Mission Impossible: The Final Reckoning is releasing on 23 May 2025.
