Carolina Gaitán, the voice behind Pepa in Disney’s Encanto and whose credits include Narcos, is headlining the cast of survival thriller “Quicksand”. Allan Hawco co-stars Gaitán in this English-language movie.
“Quicksand” is centred around a married couple on the brink of separation who gets trapped in quicksand while hiking through a Colombian rainforest. They need to work together, sort their issues, survive and escape together by battling out the jungle dangers.
Andrés Beltrán is attached to direct script penned by Matt Pitts. The project is bank-rolled by Vegas-based production company Sangre Films. Producers also include Jason Cherubini of Dawn’s Light Media, Nicolas Reyes of Elemental Stories and Sean Patrick Burke of 222 Pictures. The film is currently being shot in Bogota since four weeks.
“When I started reading Matt’s script I couldn’t stop. It’s such a thrilling and suspenseful story that hooked me immediately. Having Carolina and Allan playing our leading roles makes this a dream project,” remarked director Andrés Beltrán.
