Yami Gautam will be next seen in Ronnie Screwvala’s film ‘A Thursday’ that is set for a direct-to-digital release. The film is a psychological thriller and will be directed and written by Behzad Khambata. It will be co-produced by Premnath Rajagopalan of Blue Monkey Films. This film will mark Yami’s début in the OTT world.
Yami Gautam, will essay the role of the protagonist in the film, Naina Jaiswal, who is a playschool teacher by profession. She takes 16 toddlers as her hostages on a thursday. According to Screwvala, ‘A Thursday’ will bring forth our society’s failures through the perspective of a middle class playschool teacher, much like it did in his film ‘A Wednesday’ through a common man dissatisfied with the governing authorities.
For Yami who has mostly played positive lead and supporting roles in films, will be seen in a strong and fierce gray character in the psychological thriller ‘A Thursday’ and is very excited for it. Also it will be the first time that she would be the major lead of the film with the responsibility of making it a success.
Ronnie Screwvala’s ‘A Thursday’ is set for a direct-to-digital release in 2021,but no specific dates have been revealed as of yet.
